Barcelona could be plotting their vengeance on Arsenal for the manner in which the north London club purchased not only Francesc Fabregas, but also Fran Merida, by luring prized youth star Benik Afobe to the Camp Nou.
Fabregas, 22, has represented the Gunners for six years. He was recruited by Arsene Wenger for a bargain six-figure sum, but if Barca were to attempt to bring the Catalan product back to the club then he would likely cost between £30-40 million.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, the Primera Division outfit are now looking to acquire England Under-17 sensation Benik Afobe, a player as prolific and clinical in front of goal as he is physically strong.
Afobe recently scored twice and created two assists during the England U-17's 6-2 mauling of Kazakhstan, and apparently Barcelona had scouts at the match.
A £5,500 per week contract is allegedly being readied for the 16-year-old who has been with Arsenal since 2001. He has scored 11 goals from 13 appearances in the Under-18 side this season.
