Barcelona midfielder Sergi Busquets believes that it is not possible for Lionel Messi to replicate his form for the Blaugrana for his country as the two teams play different systems.

Messi has come in for criticism from many quarters in Argentina, including his own coach Diego Maradona for not delivering his sparkling club form on the international stage.

"It is impossible to see the Barca Messi playing for Argentina. They are two different teams with different players, different systems," he told Don Balon.

Despite a rocky campaign Argentina and Messi eventually secured progression to the World Cup thanks to a win over Uruguay in their final qualifier and Busquets is refusing to get complacent about his participation in Vicente Del Bosque's Spain squad.

"It is still a long way away and a lot can happen," he remarked before saying his goal is to "get a little bit better every day, learn and help the team improve".
