Barcelona's preparations for their league encounter against Real Mallorca this Saturday was disrupted after their flight home from Kazan was delayed and training had to be cancelled.
The Blaugrana stayed in Russia after the goalless draw with Rubin on Wednesday evening and were due to fly back to the Catalan capital at 10:30 a.m local time [8:30 a.m CET] on Thursday.
But their plans were interrupted when the pilot reported that there were problems with one of the plane's engines due to the freezing conditions.
That saw the team's take-off delayed by over an hour and meant that the training session that coach Pep Guardiola had planned was called off.
After every game, the Barca boss habitually requires his players to have a warm down and recovery session, but he will not be able to work with his squad until Friday.
Barcelona take on Mallorca in Camp Nou on Saturday 20:00 CET as they bid to bounce back from a frustrating goalless draw against Rubin that saw them slip to third in Group F in the Chamions League.
