Barcelona are set to intensify their efforts to sign Brazilian striker Robinho from Manchester City during the winter transfer window according to Sport.
It is understood that the Catalan outfit will follow up on initial attempts to persuade City to part with the player they signed from Real Madrid a little over a year ago at a meeting between a Barcelona delegation which will include director of football Txiki Begiristain and City officials in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday next, November 11.
Barca officials are reportedly planning to discuss three separate proposals to the City owners for the transfer of a Brazilian. The first involves a six month loan deal with or without the option to buy the player at the end of the arrangement while they are also willing to discuss the possibility of a straight transfer for a fee believed to be in the region of €30 million, which would go some way to covering the €42.5 million the Citizens paid for Robinho in 2008.
The third option set to be mulled over is an 18-month loan deal. Should the meeting next week prove fruitful Barca club president, Joan Laporta, is likely to tie up the deal when Barca travel to the United Arab Emirates for the FIFA World Club Championship in December.
